Explained for every age
For kids (7–11)
Here you can compare body parts when they are healthy and when something happens to them: bones, arteries, teeth and blood. The best part is that you can take care of many of these things with simple habits, like eating tasty, healthy food, moving around, brushing your teeth and protecting yourself when you play.
For teens (12–16)
This zone shows five pairs: on one side the healthy tissue and on the other the same tissue with a common disease or injury (osteoporosis, atherosclerosis, cavities, fracture and diabetes). Comparing them helps you understand what changes, why it happens (the risk factors) and which habits prevent it. Several of these diseases progress silently for years, which is why prevention starts when you are young.
Pre-Med (17+)
The scene contrasts normal and altered morphology in five common processes: loss of bone mass and microarchitecture (osteoporosis), formation of atheromatous plaque in the arterial intima (atherosclerosis), demineralization of enamel by bacterial acids (dental caries), loss of bone continuity and its repair by callus (fracture) and chronic hyperglycemia (diabetes mellitus). They share modifiable risk factors (diet, physical inactivity, tobacco) and most have a long subclinical phase, which justifies primary prevention and screening with objective diagnostic criteria.
