For kids (7–11)
Two bean-shaped filters, your kidneys, clean the liquid part of your blood about 60 times a day. What they take out turns into pee and is stored in a bag, the bladder.

Pre-Med (17+)
Retroperitoneal kidneys with ≈ 1 million nephrons each (glomerulus, tubules, nephron loop of Henle, collecting duct). Glomerular filtration ≈ 125 mL/min, tubular reabsorption and secretion, regulation of blood volume and pressure via the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone axis and ADH. Urinary tract: renal pelvis, ureter, bladder, urethra.
